Our theme for this full day in the woods is the BFG (Big Friendly Giant) in honour of the legendary children's author Roald Dahl.
Imagine entering Giant Country, a world where magic is possible, but beware the fearsome Fleshlumpeater and loathsome Bloodbottler giants. The children can pretend to be friendly giants, creating dream catchers and heading off to Dream Country to catch some dreams. We will create a giant HQ and use the ancient Japanese art of Hapa Zome to make flags to decorate it. If that doesn't keep you busy we always have the old favourites of bug hunting, den building. All this will be rounded off with a (non- snozzcumber) snack, a 'whizpopping' frobscottle drink and some giant inspired stories around the campfire. Booking essential. Please contact Jemma Robinson 07581 067 365 or at robinsonsdiscoverytree@gmail.com All participants must bring a packed lunch. Sessions take place in all weather so appropriate clothing is essential. |
Ashton Hill Forest is a 148 acre (60 hectare) mixed woodland with conifers, broadleaves and areas of ancient woodland as well as a magnificent stand of Californian Redwoods (Sequoia). We have a base camp deep in this beautiful site.
