Tortworth Forest Centre is based at Tortworth Arboretum, Wotton-Under-Edge, a historically and culturally rich woodland in South Gloucestershire.
The arboretum is a 20 acre site once owned by the Ducie family, part of the original Tortworth Estate. The arboretum trees were planted by the third Earl of Ducie, Henry John Moreton, from 1853 onward, complementing the existing ancient trees spread across the Tortworth Estate parkland. He continued this until his death in 1921. The arboretum is currently being lovingly restored for community use by Tortworth Forest Centre. |
